Beauty

Recently I had the privilege of gathering with a group of ladies to discuss life and of course oils.  We talked about our growing faith, our kids, our struggles and how crazy our schedules are .  I love gatherings like this, I always come away feeling encouraged and grateful for God’s workmanship and His control.

During our time together we  did a little impromptu beauty school/make and take!  I had a blast sharing the importance of paying attention to what ingredients are not only in our food and cleaning supplies but also our beauty products.  My favorite resources are the Chemical Home Free Books! These simple books are packed full of information about harmful chemicals found in our beauty products and recipes.

chemical-home-1Here are some ingredients to stay away from when looking for a healthy, natural face wash.

parabens
fragrance
propylene glycol
sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS)

Of course the best option is to just make your own!  Here are my favorite recipes for face wash and serum.
Supplies:
-Foaming bottle
-Sweet almond oil (or choose a carrier oil that is good for you)
-Glass serum bottle
-Dr. Bonners unscented castile soap
-essential oils

Carrier Oil Options:
organic sweet almond oil- best for all skin types
organic jojoba Oil- best for aging skin
organic grapeseed oil- best for normal or acne prone
organic avocado oil- best for dry skin

Be Still and Meditate

img_2089

Let’s face it…with everyone’s busy schedules, it is hard to mediate. On some days I find myself rushing around like a CRAZY person before work!! I have found something that has truly helped me gain my peace and focus for the day!  I challenge you to add this quick practice to your Daily Routine. You can thank me later (:

All you need to begin is FIVE minutes….just five. I love to do it first thing in the morning before my kiddos get up. I have to admit that I am a little sad if I hear the tiptoes of my 5 year old before my meditation is complete. ): Here are some things that I like to have handy to begin!

**My Yoga Mat

**Pick a quiet space where you know you won’t be disturbed. What is it about kids….they can sense when you are up, no matter how Quiet you are…SIGH….

**Diffuser- I wear  Sage and diffuse Frankincense before I get started. Frank is one of my favorites because it is very grounding.

**My Homemade Candles (optional) It brings me peace!

**My Daily Devotional

**My iPhone with my earbuds

Here are some of my favorite Meditation Videos:

My little one loves this one at nighttime!

Be still my heart!!! IS this not the cutest thing you have seen today??!!

We have also been practicing Yoga and Mediation in my classroom a couple of times a day. Did you know that my kiddos actually ask for it?? We totally utilize “Flow” on www.gonoodle.com

“Prayer is when you talk to GOD, Meditation is when GOD talks to you”!

Give it a try and let me know how it goes in our comment section.(:

Do it Yourself Rubs!

Why waste your money on expensive creams when you can literally WHIP it up in a matter of minutes in your own kitchen. Not only is it MORE cost efficient, it is sooooooo much better for you!

You need:

Hand Mixer

5 Tablespoons of Organic Coconut Oil

8-10 Drops of your favorite Oil. (I used Frankincense) I use it on my face as a moisturizer. Have I told you all how much I love Frank???? I use it EVERYDAY!

THATS’S IT!!!

WHIP up and place in your favorite container. I’ve been making them for friends and family!

I used these as gifts:

Got Junk?

img_2025

This is a perfect time of year to have Thieves and Oregano at your fingertips (don’t let your kiddos touch these) these are considered a “hot” oil. They will burn if you get them in your eyes!!

Oh but the benefits…These two are high in Phenols and phenylpropanoids. So what in the world??? There are dozens of different kinds of phenylpropanoids. They are GREAT to use when unwanted viruses and bacteria arise in your home! The most important job of the phenylpropanoids is they CLEAN receptor sites on the cells. Without clean receptor sites…they can’t communicate and the body doesn’t cooperate…resulting in sickness.

Diffuse it today!!
