I don’t know about you but this school year has kept my head spinning ! While trying to find that “balance” in life, I am always looking for ways to make this momma’s CRAZY life a little easier! I have made a list of some of some of my new favorites (some oily, some not) that help me keep my sanity in this crazy thing called life!
Develop a Calendar System: Like many families, my husband and I keep busy with work and our girls after-school activities. I have found that our new lifesaver is our Google Calendar. With this Live calendar you and your hubby (or 16 year old) can add any events as they come up. This also helps with those nights that you know you won’t have time to cook and you can meal plan ahead of time! Meal planning for us is looking in the freezer (:
Google Docs ( a safe place for all of your files): If your workplace hasn’t introduced you to this place of awesomeness, you are in for a treat! Go ahead and create a Google Account and all of your “files” can be stored in one place and wait…….you can access it almost anywhere if you can get on the internet! I am learning more each day! You can create files, folders, documents, online surveys….the list goes on and on! Hop on and you won’t regret it!
Need labels?!: I mean seriously!! Who has been hiding this little gem from me for ALL of these years! If you are a label making fool like me… you would want to know that you can make your labels on Avery Labels! They will even print projects for you and mail them to you?! I can’t tell you as a teacher and as a business leader, how easy this has made my life!
Instant Ink: This leads me to my next time saver!! Hold on to your seat for this one!! Did you know that you can go to Instant Ink, sign up for a monthly subscription depending on how many pages you print and they will send the ink cartridges to you!!! SAY WHAT?!!No more running out of ink in the middle of a project !You can thank me later for this one!(:
Breakfast Energy Protein Balls: Make these Breakfast Balls ahead of time so you won’t be running around like a crazy mom in the morning! Your kids will thank you for this mouth full of deliciousness! Even your picky orders will find this appealing!

Disclaimer: (Cause you know I got to put it here!) I am not a medical professional, I do not and cannot diagnose anything. Use these recipes as they suit you and your family. People with sensitive skin are advised to use a higher dilution ratio. The below recipes are intended for adults unless specifically stated for children. When using Essential oils on children please consult the proper reference materials.
Always use a glass roller bottle for essential oils! A metal ball is recommended with citrus oils because they eat the plastic! Young Living provides us one in our starter kit.
Choose a carrier oil (not olive oil for this one)My favorite carrier oil is :
- fractionated coconut oil – coconut oil broken down to remain liquid and last longer. Find what your favorite is!
Essential Oils if stored correctly will last indefinitely. BUT once you mix them with a carrier oil in your roller bottle they take on the expiry date of the carrier oil.
