How to use Essential Oils?

lavender

Topically:

We only use Young Living essential oils.  Some essential oils are mixed with other ingredients or synthetic materials to help reduce costs, but this can cause adverse reactions. We use Young Living because of their seed to seal guarantee, dedication to quality, and transparency with the process of growing and producing essential oils. Did you know that you can go visit their farms at any time?

Where to Apply?

  • Crown of head
  • Temples
  • Behind ears
  • Neck
  • Upper back
  • Abdomen
  • Over vital organs
  • Soles and top of feet
  • Ankles

Vita Flex Points: Vita Flex means “vitality through the reflexes” and is an easy way to apply essential oil through the bottoms of the feet (in both the hands and the feet).

Direct Inhalation:

The inhalation of essential oils heightens the senses and can trigger numerous desired responses in the body. Below are several techniques used to inhale essential oils:

1: Direct inhalation-simply smell them. Put a few drops in your hand and breathe.

2: Carefully pour hot water into a bowl and add a few drops of oil. Cover your head and bowl in a tent-like fashion with a towel. Breathe deeply and slowly.

Why Diffuse?

Diffusing oils help purify and cleanse the air.75% of American homes use synthetic air fresheners that contain numerous chemical agents that have been linked to cancer, including formaldehyde. The olfactory nerve is a pathway to the brain, and some of those chemicals are potential endocrine disruptors. Ditch the toxic room sprays, plug-ins, and candles.  Get out that diffuser!!

Diffuse the oils using a Young Living diffuser ( I love the Dew Drop) which disperses the oil in a micro-fine vapor into the air. The Young Living diffuser will not heat the oils, thus ensuring full benefits, as extreme heat can damage important constituents in the oil.

Internally:

The Vitality Oil product line (white label) is specifically for internal use. You can put Vitality oils in an empty vegetable capsule. You can drink the Vitality oils in a glass of water, juice, or tea. You can cook with the Vitality oils and add them in your food. All of the Vitality oils are classified as nutritional supplements and labeled as such!

What is a carrier oil?

Carrier oils are used with an essential oil when it feels too “hot” on the skin. Clove,  Oregano, Thieves,  are examples of “hot oils” that may need to be diluted with a carrier oil.  Young Living’s V6 Vegetable Oil Complex, coconut oil, olive oil (which most people have around the house), grapeseed oil, vitamin E oil, and almond oil are some examples of carrier oils.
